Welcome to PKL Cares Food Pantry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pantry, where we are dedicated to nourishing our neighbors and fostering a sense of belonging. Each month, we distribute free food boxes filled with nutritious staples and fresh produce to families in need. With the support of generous donors and volunteers, we strive to make a positive impact in our community, providing not only food but also hope and connection. Join us in this vital effort as we work together to create a healthier, more supportive environment for everyone.
We are always in need of helping hands on distribution days which take place the third Saturday of each month starting at 10:00 am at our Food Pantry located at:
761 South Street, Oscoda, MI 48750.

We hope to see you there!
A generous donation to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit will support our monthly packed food box giveaways, where we provide not only essential pantry staples but also fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and a variety of meat items. This mission is entirely volunteer-led, fueled by a collective belief that everyone deserves to be nourished, and a deep commitment to taking a holistic approach to feeding our community.
In Iosco County alone, the rate of children living in poverty is 26%, far higher than the 18% statewide and 16% nationally. Additionally, 66% of children in the area rely on free or reduced school lunches, compared to 51% across Michigan. These statistics alone highlight the critical need for our program. Every third Saturday of the month, we distribute food boxes at the Oscoda Food Pantry located at 761 South State Street, on a first-come, first-served basis. We never turn anyone away.
Currently, we are able to distribute 100 food boxes each month, but by Spring 2025, we hope to increase that number to 250. With your help, we can make this a reality. A donation of just $50 covers the cost of one food box, and with that, we gain increased purchasing power through our food vendor, The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, ensuring that we can provide nutritious, balanced meals for even more families.
Unlike many other pantry programs that rely on donated food from community members, we purchase everything we give away to ensure fairness and consistency for every person in need. Your donation directly helps us provide these essential resources to families who need them most. For that, we are deeply grateful.
We greatly appreciate you and thank you for your kindness.
